Rate plan imports use a series of 5 separate import files that are imported in a very specific order. Here is an overview of the 5 import files.

Create new Rate Plan(s). Fill out information on the General tab of the rate plan.

Rate Plan Import Files - Vetting the files before importing

Rate Plans:
- Used to create new rate plans or update existing rate plans
- Creates the rate plan itself and defines settings on the General tab of the rate plan
- Columns A, B and C are required fields. These correspond to Name, Description and Rate Plan Type. The Name and Description can be obtained from the All Active Rate Plans export. Following the instructions at the bottom of this document to obtain this export.
- Information entered on any other column will update existing settings; blank fields will overwrite existing settings.

Rate Plans Language Tiers & Languages
- Used to create new Language Tier Names and associated Languages in the new tiers, or to add more Languages to an existing Language Tier
- Column A, B, C and D are ALL required fields
- If adding new languages to an existing Language Tier, this import can be run before or after running Rate Plans Tiers & Rates
- If creating a new Language Tier, this import is run first, before running Rate Plans Tiers & Rates

Rate Plans Tiers & Rates
- Used to add new services or to update existing service rate settings
- Column A, B, and E are required fields. Column C and/or column D need to be filled in to indicate where the new or updated service information corresponds to.

Rate Plans Tiers & Fees
- Used to add or update fees such as Cancellation, Rush, Miscellaneous, Custom as well as setting Cliff rates
- Column A, B, E, F and H are required fields. Column C and/or column D need to be filled in to indicate where the new or updated service information corresponds to.
- This import is run after Rate Plans Tiers & Rates if fees are being added to newly created services.

Rate Plans Tiers Settings
- Used to update settings on the Base Tier or Language Tier tabs for existing services
- Example: Add Account Classification names to the Base Tier or Language Tier at a higher level, or to specific services on a more granular level. Can also set things like mileage override, point to point mileage, billing increments, etc.
- Column A and B are required fields
- Note: Column I (Threshold) is NOT a required field

Running the All Active Rate Plans Export
This export provides the names of rate plans, the descriptions, names of Language Tiers, Qualifications and Services defined on each active rate plan, etc.
This export does not provide any information with regard to cancel fees, rush fees or misc. fees.
From the Reports menu, click Custom Exports and scroll down to All Active Rate Plans, click Start Export
The export can be obtained by navigating to the Admin menu > Import/Export menu. Click on the Export tab. Once the report is finished running, click on the word Download to retrieve the report. The report name will be similar to this example: ratePlan-2023.05.31.xlsx
Sort the report by column AW, Rate Plan Type to better manage all of the Customer rate plans separate from all of the Interpreter rate plans.
Columns A and B provide the Rate Plan Name and the Rate Plan Description required for the corresponding Rate Plan import file.
Columns C, D and E provide the Language Tier name, Qualification name and Service name required for other import files.
