To enhance the security and reliability of templates in Interpreter Intelligence, we have introduced a Template Whitelist.

This update affects all templates across the platform, including email, SMS, invoice, payment and other template-driven content.

What Is the Template Whitelist?

The Template Whitelist defines which dynamic fields (snippets) are approved for use in templates.

Only snippets included on this approved list can be:

  • Saved in a new or updated template
  • Previewed successfully
  • Used when sending emails, SMS messages, invoices, or other template-based communications

The whitelist was created by analyzing:

  • Snippets currently used in production
  • Snippets documented and recommended within the product and supporting documentation

Why This Change Was Made

This update improves Security, Stability and Consistency

What Templates Are Affected?

The Template Whitelist applies to all templates and snippet usage in Interpreter Intelligence, including:

  • Email templates
  • SMS templates
  • Invoice and payment templates
  • VOS templates
  • Snippets used in views such as Offered Job View
  • Templates assigned at both the company and customer levels

How Template Validation Works

Templates are now validated against the whitelist at two stages:

  • When saving a template – Invalid snippets prevent the template from being saved
  • When previewing or sending a template – Invalid snippets prevent execution

This validation applies to both new and existing templates.

What You Might Notice

After this change, you may see:

  • Errors when saving a template that contains unapproved snippets
  • Errors when previewing or sending a template that previously worked
  • Validation messages indicating unsupported or invalid snippets

These errors indicate that a snippet used in the template is not currently included in the whitelist.

What to Do If You Encounter an Error

If you receive a whitelist-related error:

  1. If the snippet appears valid but is not accepted, contact the II Support Team for assistance at support@interpreterintelligence.com
  2. If the snippet is deemed valid, it may be added to the whitelist following review.

Do You Need to Take Action?

  • No action is required if your templates use approved snippets and continue to preview successfully
  • Action may be required if templates fail validation due to unsupported snippets

We recommend previewing templates after making changes and before relying on them for critical notifications.
