The Consumer field is visible by default on the Job Details page of all jobs and, if visible, is a required field. Internal users also see the Date of Birth, Claim Number, Date of Injury Notes and Comments if any of this information is entered on the consumer profile. The customer will only see the consumer name and Date of Birth, if the DOB is entered on the consumer profile.

Hide the Consumer field

You can turn off (hide) the Consumer field either across all customers or on a per-customer basis.

To turn off the field across all customers, do this from the Admin menu > Company menu > Consumers tab. Uncheck the Consumer Enable checkbox.

Limiting the list of consumers on the Customer Portal

Internal agency users will always see a list of all consumers across all customers when creating or editing any job for any customer.

Customers who have access to the Customer Portal can be limited to only see consumers who are actively associated with the customer as long as the two settings described below are enabled. NOTE: If either the company-level setting or the individual customer-level setting are unchecked, the customer will see all consumer names across all customers.

Admin menu > Company menu > Consumers tab

Customer Specific checkbox, if checked, tells the system to only display consumers who are actively associated with a customer in the Customer portal. This is the master switch that turns on and off the functionality.

Admin menu > Customers menu > select a customer from the list

Each customer has the same Customer Specific setting that controls whether or not customers can see all consumers, or just consumers associated with them. NOTE: This setting is turned off by default and must be enabled to prevent customers from seeing all consumer names across your agency.

Allow Consumer Creation, if checked, allows customers to create new consumers via the customer portal. These consumers are automatically associated with that customer only.

Enable Consumer Count adds a required dropdown select field on the Close Job popup window asking the interpreter to select the number of consumers interpreted for during the job.

Enable Consumer DOB for Interpreters displays the consumer DOB (if one is present on the consumer profile) under the Consumer name, visible on the interpreter portal and the mobile app.

Enable Consumer Rate Plans is a legacy setting and is not functional at this time

If you would like this set for all of your existing customers, there is an import file to bulk update the setting for all customers. Please contact support@interpreterintelligence.com for assistance with this bulk update.

Searching for Consumer Names

The Consumer field displays 25 names by default.

Use typeahead to get an alphabetical list (either by first name or by last name).

Use the dropdown arrow to get a list of 25 names, not alphabetized.

Search by entering the date of birth, if the consumer has a DOB on their profile.

Consumers Associated with Customers

Consumer profiles should also have specific customer-consumer associations defined.

If a customer is allowed to create new consumer profiles, those consumers will automatically be associated with that customer.

If a scheduler creates a new consumer profile via the Job Details page, that consumer will automatically be associated with the customer for whom the job is being created.

If a consumer is created manually via Manage Consumers, the customer association is also a manual action taken from the Customers tab of the consumer profile.

If consumers are created via a bulk import creation of consumer profiles, a second import file can be run to bulk associate those consumers with specific customers. Please contact support@interpreterintelligence.com for assistance with bulk imports.

Exporting Consumer information - This information is included in the booking export for both internal agency users and requestors who have Reports permission:

The booking export contains the following attributes: Consumer Full Name, Consumer First Name, Consumer Last Name, Consumer Email, Consumer DOB, Consumer DOI, Consumer Notes, Consumer Responsible Payor, Consumer Payor Record Number, Consumer Claim Number. The Consumer Record Number is not available in the export.
