Video: Creating and using Rate Qualifications

Question: Why isn't the rate qualification applied to this face-to-face, Spanish-language job?

  • Check the rate plan > Language Tiers tab. Is there a language tier for the Spanish language?
  • If yes, check to see if there is a Rate Qualification listed under the Spanish language tier.
  • If yes, check to see if there is an entry for face to face service type under the Rate Qualification.

  • If there is no Language Tier set up for Spanish language jobs, check the Base Rates tab.
  • Is there a corresponding Rate Qualification set up on the Base Rates tab?
  • If yes, check to see if there is an entry for face to face service type under the Rate Qualification.

Question: If there are multiple rate qualifications on a job, how does the system know which rate qualifications to apply to the interpreter and/or the customer?

The system checks to see if the rate qualification is listed on the interpreter rate plan on either the corresponding Base Rates tab or the Language Tiers tab. If it is, the interpreter will be paid that rate rather than the Base Rate or Language Tier Rate.

If there are several matching rate qualifications listed on the job and on the interpreter rate plan, the system will apply the first rate qualification listed on the interpreter rate plan. The system does not apply the first rate qualification listed on the job itself, nor does it apply the rate qualification alphabetically.
